Rare full-blue Colt single action army revolver, .45 caliber, 5-1/2” barrel, U.S. artillery series, wood grips, serial #3433. Shipped from Colt Factory to Manila during the Spanish American War, featured on page244 of A study of the Colt Single Action by Kopec and Graham, and formerly in the collection of this noted Colt expert of Ron Graham. Colt Firearms Company letter dated 1974 to Ron Graham is also included, whichindicates ‘Shipped November 26, 1901, Commanding Officer, Manila, Philippine Island, 100 guns in shipment’. The revolver shows matching barrel, frame, backstrap, and triggerguard, and serialized ejector rodhousing, which was only found on the very early martial pistols. Also, the pistol shows correct early cylinder pin and bulls-eye ejector rod head, early black-powder hammer, and the cylinder is “JTC” and “P” inspected,and serial numbered “5299”. The one-piece military wood grips fit impeccably and are not inspected. The revolver shows 70-80% original arsenal blue finish, drifting at the edges, some light erosion and pinprick
