Rare folding lockback hunter-pattern knife by Will & Finck. Approx. 6-1/2” (Closed) with a 5” clip blade with false edge. Ricasso is marked “Will & Finck S. F. Cal”. The blade has sharpening marks, good edge, and full tip, with staining and patches of light pitting. German silver bolster and fancy pommel. The knife shows swell center stag scales with five iron pins, brass liners, a French style lockback mechanism. The blade locks in the open position but is lazy folding into the hilt. This knife is published on page 81 of The Knifemakers of Old San Francisco book by Bernie Lavine. In good condition overall. Circa last quarter of the 19th century. Hugh Hayes Collection.
