Rare and desirable Winchester model 1895, US marked rifled-musket, .30 caliber, blue finish, cartouched wood stocks, serial #12700. The rifle remains in good to very good condition showing 75-85% blue on exposed portion of barrel, some losses at the edges and muzzle and some minor scratching. The frame shows 40-50% original blue, some scratches, erosion, and areas of just-starting pinprick pitting. This buttstock shows a good cartouche just above the lever on the left side of the wrist, and rack numbered “49” and “70” in the belly of the stock. Along with an “M” type inspector’s mark, with three sling-swivels present, and sling swivel eyelet at front of frame. The lever shows a KSM inspection, the frame shows a large “U.S.” stamp. Buttplate is also KSM inspected as is the bolt and several other small parts. The forend shows a few minor chips at the action, a couple of slight cracks, some small losses around the upper edge. The buttstock shows the initials “DN” carved in, but generally good to very good overall with good markings, good action, very good bore. Very difficult US Martial long-arm to obtain, particularly with a cartouche. Est: $4,000 -
