Rare and desirable LC Smith A2 grade two-barrel set in 16ga, single trigger, auto ejectors, serial #211550E. Pictured extensively in Brophy book. The gun shows two 26” sets of barrels serial numbered tomatch, both with matching serial numbers and their own fancy checkered forends matching to buttstock. Barrel #1 is choked approx. Full (right), Improved Modified (left). Barrel #2 is choked Modified (right) and Full (left).Both barrels are marked Sir Joseph Witworth Fluid Compressed Steel, made to order by Hunter Arms, with gold bands on each of the raised non-ventilated ribs. The action is highly engraved in scrolls with smallvignettes of bird dogs on each side of frame, and LC Smith engraved in gold on each lockplate. The fences are deep cut and chiseled in floral designs. The gun remains in fine to near excellent condition, bothbarrels show an excellent factory quality refinish of which 95-98% remains, just slightly aging and toning with some slight losses at the edges and corner.
