Rare and Near New Winchester Model 62A Gallery Slide Action Rifle with Box and Original Hanging Tag
When the Model 1890 and 1906 were dropped from production in 1932, Winchester introduced the Model 62 to take their place. Winchester offered this Gallery version chambered for the .22 short only. Gallery guns have a triangular loading port which the standard models did not have. A change in the breech bolt mechanism brought about the change in the name designation from Model 62 to 62A. Blade front sight and adjustable rear sight. 17 groove slide handle and straight grip stock with plastic buttplate marked "Winchester Repeating Arms Co." Complete with Winchester box numbered to gun, papers and original hanging tag.

Near new in the box. Metal surfaces show only the slightest signs of delicate storage marks. The wood is excellent. All markings are crisp. The box is similarly conditioned in excellent to very fine condition. The end label is 100% intact and legible. All corners and edges are excellent as are the papers and hanging tag. A hard to improve upon example of a rare and desirable Winchester rifle.
