Rare and Desirable Martially Inspected Massachusetts Arms Warner's Patent Breech Loading Brass Frame
One of the first 200 (serial number 19) produced in 1864. Blade and folding leaf sights, with the left side of the martially inspected barrel marked "CSL" and the left side of the frame marked "JAMES WARNER SPRINGFIELD, MASS / WARNER'S / PATENT". Fitted with a manual extractor on the underside of the forearm and a saddle ring on the left side of the frame. Smooth straight grip stock with a single barrel band and "L" on the brass buttplate and on the bottom of the frame.

Condition: Very good, with a mixed brown patina on the barrel, showing mild pitting and handling marks. The brass shows a few dings, with an attractive aged color. Stock is good, with some cracks and dents, a pinned repair in the wrist and period applied varnish. Mechanically fine.
