Manufactured in 1939. Hooded ramp and adjustable sporting type rear sights on a barrel with the two line address on the right side and left side having standard Winchester markings followed by "300 MAGNUM", the first style of the 300 H&H Magnum caliber designation stamp. Winchester factory proof on the barrel and receiver on the left side at the breech. Type I receiver is tapped for scope/sight mounting. Polished bolt numbered to the gun, pre-war safety and cloverleaf receiver tang. The receiver, breech end of the barrel, hinged floor plate and trigger guard feature a light scroll engraving with "SUPER GRADE" marked in an arch on the floor plate near the catch. Super grade style pistol grip stock with multi-point checkering, quick release sling swivels, cheekpiece, factory hard rubber grip cap and checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine. The rifle retains 98% of the blue finish showing some light handling marks and some mild thinning on the period refinished trigger guard assembly. The engraving is crisp. The stock is excellent with a few barely noticeable handling marks. The checkering is crisp.
