Rare Winchester Model 21 Salesman Demonstration Sample
This is an excellent example of an extremely rare factory made non-firing Winchester Model 21 salesman factory cut away double barrel shotgun serial numbered "40". A 2 3/4" section of the left barrel and a larger 4 7/8" section of the right barrel are purposely absent (factory manufactured this way) exposing the chambers and part of the right barrel. Both sides of the receiver are completely open exposing all of the internal working parts of the gun. The top of the left barrel is marked with the two line address/patent pending marking, the top of the right barrel is marked "MODEL 21 - WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK- 12 GAUGE" , the bottom of the barrels have the "VP" Winchester "PROOF STEEL" marking and they are marked "FULL" and "MOD", left and right respectively. The water table is unmarked, with no proof marks, (as this was never intended to be fired). The matching serial number is marked on the upper tang, left barrel flat, forearm wood and forearm hardware. Equipped with functional tang mounted automatic safety, trigger mounted selector and ejectors. This extremely rare Model 21 (non-gun), was used for demonstration purposes by highly skilled Winchester salesmen in their effort to market the Model 21.

Excellent. The metal retains 99% plus of the original high polished blue finish with only a few light handling marks. The wood is excellent with some minor wear on the high edge of the pistol grip, a few minor handling marks and sharp checkering. An exceptional example of a rare Winchester Model 21 salesman cutaway, serial numbered 40.
