This shotgun was manufactured in 1930 in 16 gauge with the rare stainless steel barrel. There is a single steel bead sight, choke is marked "FULL" and a 2 1/2 inch chamber. The barrel is marked "-STAINLESS STEEL- [three line Winchester trademark] - MODEL 12-16 GA. FULL" on the left side and the two line address/patent dates marking on the right side. Single factory proofmark on the barrel and receiver. 14 groove round walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a replacement Winchester plastic buttplate. Length of pull is 13 3/4 inches. These stainless steel barrels were originally Japanned and were available for a comparatively short time, all Winchesters with these barrels are very rare and valuable collector's items.

Condition: Very good. The barrel has an attractive stainless steel gray appearance. The remaining metal surfaces retain 40% original blue finish blending with brown and gray patina. The lightly sanded and reoiled stock has a few light handling marks, but otherwise good. The forend retains traces of original varnish blended with a hand worn patina, along with a few mild handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
