Rare Westley Richards Side by Side Boxlock Try Gun with Leather Case

This excellent example was manufactured circa 1930. Westley Richards was founded in 1812 and is one of the oldest surviving English gunmakers using traditional methods. The barrels have a single steel bead sight on the solid concave rib, are choked .012 (skeet II)/.042 (extra full) and have 2 3/4 inch chambers with an extractor. The receiver is engraved "WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO." on both sides with some small flourishes of engraving on or around the screw heads. Mounted on a nicely figured multi-point checkered walnut forearm and adjustable straight grip try stock. This type of stock was used to find the correct measurements of a stock to fit an individual buying a gun. They would then make a standard stock using those dimensions. Most adjustments require a square key (not included) while others use a thumbwheel to make adjustments. The wrist is adjustable for angle and length, the comb is adjustable for height at the front and the butt is adjustable for length. With a leather covered hardcase.
