Rare Walther  ac/40  Added Code P-38 Semi-Automatic Pistol
This is a rare example of an early Walther P-38 with the ac40 added date marking. These are denoted by the offset "40" dated which has been added under the "ac" code. The left side of the slide is marked "P.38 ac/40" with the serial number, and the right side has the "eagle/swastika" firing proof flanked by "eagle/WaA 359" proofs. In addition to the "AC/40" code on the slide, this one also has the "AC" on the left side of the trigger guard. The underside of the barrel lug is marked "ac", and "58" on the left side of the locking block, in addition to the standard markings. "Eagle/WaA359" Waffenamt stamp on all major parts and some of the small ones. The grips are brown bakelite, and the magazine is marked "P.38v" on the left.

Condition: Excellent, with approximately 85% plus of the original bright blue finish. Bright edge wear is visible overall, with a gray patina forming on the grip strap and scattered light dings and spotting. Grips are excellent, with some light scratches. Mechanically excellent.
