<td width="100%">
Very,Very RARE Ledger Desk made of thick solid walnut wood in the late 1800's.It is in Excellent condition.It measures 73"(6 ft.1 in.)in length.and 29" deep.The 4 large deep drawers measure 26" deep and 17"wide-great for storage.The drawers are hand dovetailed -very finely made as you can see in the picture.The piece is made totally of beautiful grained walnut wood-including the drawers.Each front drawer is 1" thick -that speaks about the quality of this very unique piece.This desk was used either in a railroad depot by the manager or by a lawyer for his office.I say that because there isn't a scratch on the slanted top and the drawers hardly have any wear whatsoever.It really is in Outstanding shape.In my 34+ yrs.of collecting, seen one sort of similar to it-it was well worn oak wood that was used by a railroad depot clerk and it was "very used."It was sold at a Marshalltown,IA.auction for $4975.-11 yrs. ago! I have owned this piece for 10 yrs. It is so Beautiful that we presently have it it in our front foyer of our newer home.Great conversational piece-everyone that walks into our home always ask: "What is that Beautiful piece of furniture?"
