Rare WWII Nazi Teno Enlisted Hewer, by Eickhorn, with hanger and knot. Massive 9 3/4'' long blade with etched markings at the ricasso area, number ''1819'' on one side, and etched ''Original Eickhorn squirrel logo'' with the ''Teno eagle and ges. gesch'' etched logo. White composite grip panels are in very good condition. Plated guard and pommel show some losses to the plated finish with an oxidized uncleaned patina overall. Blade has light age and rust stains, but no pitting, retaining its original leather blade washer. Scabbard has its original black-painted finish with some crazing under the paint and one small ding in the front; paint is about 98% remaining; scabbard fittings show wear and scratches to the plated finish and an overall oxidized patina. Black leather hanger has the metal retaining clip and a green and silver knot attached, but the small leather strap that goes around the dagger grip is missing one side of the strap. Overall a very nice example of a rare German dagger. Est.: $2,500-$3,500. (John Ackerman collection)
