Rare WWII Nazi Series II P Code Commercial Contract Krieghoff Luger with Matching Clip
This is a an example of a very rare late series II "P" code commercial contract Luger. It is estimated that only 100 total were ever produced in their own serial number range of P1 to P100, obviously making this a very early example. These pistol exhibit the Krieghoff blue finish with the straw colored small parts, with the Krieghoff/Ritzmann style fine checkered brown plastic grips. These models are easily identified since they have NO Luftwaffe proofmarks. They use the very rare, late production C-5 type toggle markings and they have the "Eagle N" commercial proof on several areas of the pistol. In addition this specific luger has the small circled "A" proof on the right side of the frame rail denoting that it was a rejected military contract luger that was sold as a commercial model. As noted above, this luger has the small Eagle N commercial proof on the left side of the barrel extension the underside of the barrel itself and the front left area of the frame rail. It is correctly numbered in a commercial contract fashion with the full serial number (P29) on the front of the frame, with just serial number "29" on the right side of the breechblock and left side of the barrel extension and of course the bottom of the aluminum base plate. As noted this luger has the scarce early commercial Ritzmann pattern brown plastic checkered grips with the fine checkering with a border on the front and rear edge of the grips. The back side of each grip has the correct factory mold markings. The blued magazine body is also correctly marked with the wartime code of "122" denoting manufacture by Haenel/Schmeisser company along with the eagle "37" Waffenamt at the top of bottom.
