These are highest quality and mint condition.</em></td></tr><tr> <td width="100%"> This exquisite pair of cranberry and white spattered art glass kerosene lamps is in excellent condition. The red and white patterned glass layer is cased over a second white layer of glass. Each lamp consists of a bottom vase with an inserted glass font which has been hand blown. Wonderful and unusual clear-glass, free-blown leaves have been applied around lower glass vase. Hand painted on each vase and font are quality enameled floral patterns and tiny blue flowers. Very finely painted.<p>
These lamps are being sold complete with two Kosmos burners. In engraved oval on side of one burner tube, it reads, "Patent Brevete S.C.D.G." Second burner tube reads, "Kosmos Brenner." Also included are two shade holders and two chimneys. The two shades are fabulous old tulip-shaped mold-blown and frosted etched.<p>
These lamps have been researched through American and European museum curators and dealers as follows:<p>
1. Corning Glass Museum in New York: The American curator believed them to be, "English or French glass, circa 1890."<p>
2. A dealer in Paris stated, "I have never seen such a lamp, but the type of glass is a bit more familiar to me. Such glass was made in two suburban manufactures next to Paris, in Clichy and in Pantin. This particular example may well come from somewhere else, but generally, antique dealers call these spotty glasses "Clichy." The burner knob features the initials W&W; but this is not Wild & Wessel, it is one of the other German manufacturers, Wetschewald ...
