Shahjahan (AH 1037-1068 /1628-1658 AD), Burhanpur Mint, Silver Rupee, 3 RY, Obv: Arabic legend The Kalima Shahada within a quarterfoil, the four caliphs names in the margin, Rev: Persian legend ‘Sahib qiran sani, Shihab ud din Shahjahan Badshah Ghazi’ at the top in three lines, ‘zarb Burhanpur’ at the bottom, 11.30g, 22.50mm, (Unlisted in KM), test marks, cabinet patina, about extremely fine, Rare.
Note: This silver rupee from Shahjahan featuring the Kalima within a decorated quatrefoil with four-line type reverse has been struck using the gold mohur dies, as per the KM # 256.2 type designated for gold coins. It is being offered for the first time!
