Rare U.S. marked E. Whitney percussion Enfield type rifle, 1855 dated, .58 cal., 33” barrel with right side bayonet lug, brass patchbox, trigger guard, butt plate and barrel bands, iron ramrod, sling swivels,wood stock; large base, flip-up adjustable rear sight (see Flayderman 5J-038). This gun is in overall good condition showing a brown patina on metal surfaces, light patina on brass, good action, overall weathered and dry but good wood with scattered mars and scratches from carry and storage; should be further research given limited production and special features. Est.: $900-$1,800.
