The left side of the barrel has the one line Ithaca address/patent/model marking over "12 GA.-2 3/4 CHAMBER", with the proper cylinder choke. The Ithaca handguard/bayonet lug has 6 rows of holes, a bead sight, and a sling swivel. The left side of the receiver is marked with the flaming Ordnance bomb next to the "RLB" (Lt. Col. Roy L. Bowlin, Rochester Ordnance District) inspector's proof. Checkered pistol grip stock and forearm with grip cap, serrated plastic factory buttplate and leather sling. Length of pull is 14". The included photocopy of the June 27, 1942 dated Ithaca shipping invoice lists this shotgun by serial number as one of several 12 gauge, 20" barrel shotguns shipped to the Augusta Ordnance Depot, Augusta, Georgia. The included photocopy of the U.S. government DD Form 1149 states that this shotgun was transferred from Pueblo Ordnance Depot, Pueblo, Colorado to the Naval Base Police Department Honolulu, Hawaii in 1962. The Ithaca Model 37 Trench gun had the smallest production quantity of all WWII trench guns at 1,422 units and the Trench Gun (20" barrel and Ithaca 6-hole handguard/ bayonet lug) are the scarcest of the Model 37 Military marked shotguns. Complete with three boxes of 12 gauge shotgun shells (25/25).

Condition: Excellent. The shotgun retains 95% original factory blue finish with some minor thinning (mostly on the barrel), some minor slide wear, some minor spotting (more prevalent on the receiver, and some minor scratches. The wood is excellent with some minor handling marks. The forearm checkering some minor nicks, otherwise the checkering is crisp overall.
