Rare Tingle Manufacturing Co. .44 Black Powder Magnum Percussion Revolver Serial Number 9

This is 1 of only 25 revolvers manufactured as a test run by Bob Tingle in the 1960s. Has a fixed blade front sight and a screw fastened notch rear sight. The 8 inch octagon barrel is stamped "TINGLE MFG. CO." and "SHELBYVILLE IND. U.S.A." on the left side. Bob Tingle was known for excellent craftsmanship and accurate firearms. He created these revolvers with coil springs and a rebounding frame mounted firing pin. The butt is stamped "no 9". Fitted with a set of smooth walnut grips. Smith & Wesson sent Bob Tingle a letter in 1965 telling him to stop using the word "Magnum" associated with his guns as it was a Smith & Wesson trademark.

The frame and rib retain 95% of the original blue finish with some scattered minor freckling. The casehardened components retain 80% of the original case colors with some wear on the loading lever and trigger. There are a few scratches and some edge wear overall. The grips are both excellent with a few light marks. Mechanically excellent.
