<B>Rare Texas Confederate Imprint.</B></I> <I>The Confederate Soldier's Hymn-Book</B></I> (Houston: The Soldiers' Tract Society, 1864), 32 pages, 3" x 5", self-cover. A pocket hymnal printed on poorly trimmed coarse brown stock and originally bound with string by the job office of the <I>Galveston News.</B></I> Moderate stains on the front cover with a small fold on the back. Overall sound and in good condition. As the Civil War progressed, soldiers on both sides became increasingly religious and open to evangelical appeals.
