Manufactured in 1906, this special order Model 1894 rifle features an extremely rare 22" octagon barrel with a dovetailed Lyman blade front sight with ivory bead and adjustable buckhorn sporting rear sight. The top barrel flat ahead of the rear sight is marked with the two line address/patent date and the left of the rear sight is marked with the nickel steel marking followed by "30 W.C.F.". The top barrel flat and front receiver ring are marked with the Winchester oval proof, the serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and the upper tang is marked "MODEL 1894 / WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK". Blue finish with casehardened hammer and lever, full magazine and mounted with a smooth forearm with steel end cap and pistol grip stock with a hard rubber Winchester grip cap and checkered steel buttplate. A copy of the accompanying Cody Firearms Museum Records Office sheet verifies serial number 350029 as a Model 1894 (configuration not given), 30 caliber, 20" octagon barrel, plain trigger, plain pistol grip stock with a shotgun butt, Lyman hunting front and sporting rear sights, that it was received in the warehouse on 7-29-1907 and shipped the next day on order number 111494.

Condition: Excellent. The rifle retains 95% plus original blue finish with high edge wear, and some finish loss on the forward sides and bottom of the receiver, and on the bottom of the lever assembly. There are a few small areas of minor pitting on the receiver. The lever retains most of the original bright case colors concentrated on the sides with a smooth mottled gray patina on the balance. The forend cap retains 85% original blue finish thinning to a smooth plum. The wood is also excellent with some scattered minor dings and dents. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
