Two rare seltzers: 1) Beautiful 11.5” tall, including top and footed base, by 4” wide seltzer. Chrome top engraved “Sam’s Seltzer “. Front etched “Reno/ Brewing Co./ Reno, Nevada.” within a circular etching. No maker’s mark. Clear glass, beautifully clean, two small pings in body, intact siphon. Rare. 2) An 11.5” tall, with top and footed base, by 4” wide. Top, missing siphon tube, is engraved “Sedro-Woolley/ Bottling Works” and appears to have been glued on. Front etched “Reno/ Brewing Co./ Reno, Nevada.” within a circular etching. No maker’s mark. Cobalt glass, several small pings in surface, glue residue along neck and inside bottle, some exterior rare, otherwise very clean. The Reno Brewing Co. was founded in 1902 and was open for business by 1903. With the advent of prohibition, Reno Brewing was forced into the soda water market for survival. Thus, in 1918, Reno Brewing converted its sales to soda water seltzers . These seltzers may have been made prior to the complete conversion, as evidenced by their similarity in style to others from the 1908-1914 period. There are two clear and two cobalt seltzers known, making these both very rare and valuable additions to any soda or saloon seltzer collector. - Jacobitz Collection -59636
