Extremely rare seltzer bottle, measuring about 12", including top, by approximately 4". Top, with intact siphon tube, bears remnants of blue paint and is engraved “Imperial S. W. Co.” The circular front etching is inscribed “Johnson & Ramdohr/ Winnemucca, Nev.” around an ornate “R&J” logo. Footed bottom bears an ornate winged shield, “Made in Austria” maker’s mark etching. Clear glass, small chip on shoulder, few small bubbles, residual moisture and staining within the seltzer. Johnson and Ramdohr purchased the Winnemucca Bottling Works in 1901 and operated it until about 1907. Harry Ramdohr was known in the area as a “shady figure” [as quoted in Ref: Nevada History Through Glass, Vol 1, Fred Holabird, 2012, p. 155].This bottle is considered extremely rare, and is a beautiful example of a Winnemucca seltzer. -59514
