First Flight and Registered Cover, 1948, Tri-colour Indian flag printed, pair of George VI 3 Pies stamp, that is overprinted on 1 Anna 2 Pies stamp, with India’s first issue of stamp valuing 3 ½ Annas & 12 Annas, cancelled with round concentric postmark in black as “BOMBAY G.P.O. | 8 JUN. 48”, along with rectangular first flight pictorial seal with an image of aero plane as “AIR MAIL | BOMBAY – LONDON | 8-6-48 FIRST FLIGHT”, addressed to “A. Medawar, Esqr | 24 Chancery Lane, | London W C 2”, dispatched by “FEDERAL STAMP CO. | 42, CHURCHGATE STREET, | FORT, BOMBAY.”, seal of “Registered” in red on the front cover above the printing “BY AIR MAIL | PAR AVION”, Registered label affixed on the back as “R v 7 92 | BOMBAY G.P.O.”, good condition, Rare.
