Manufactured in 1936. The barrel has standard Winchester markings with the factory proof stamped on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech. It has dovetailed front and sporting rear sights and 10-groove cigar style forearm. The straight grip stock features "'5/SPOT" burned on the left side and the marking is painted red and white. One explanation for the origin of the "5 SPOT" marking relates to a large shooting operation in Michigan that was named the 5 Spot Shooting Gallery. This company burned their logo on Model 62 stocks as a form of advertising. The total quantity of these "5 Spot" models is not known. They are, however, extremely rare!
