<td width="100%">
This fabulous African-American cookie jar was the only one ever made by the Mosaic Tile Co. of Zanesville, Ohio. Designed by Kenneth Gale in 1943 or 44, it was never distributed for sale to the general public. They were made as gifts for clients, many of whom were architects. No one knows exactly how many of these Mammys were made, but they came in six different colors. This light blue example has only one hairline crack (pictured) that keeps it from being in excellent condition. The crack does run a little way up the dress, but it is contained in a fold and is not noticable unless you turn it over. The dealer will consider serious offers on this wonderful and rare piece of Black Americana. Please visit our GoAntiques site to view our other offerings of Black memorabilia.
