Rare Lustrousl High Quality Royal Persian Tehran Rug. Made of all natural, vegetable dye, hand woven, hand spun, baby lamb's wool pile on cotton foundation. This is a royal Tehran weave. Tehran being the capital and the commercial center of Iran has never been a center for rug production. However, the few that are woven are of extreme high quality and artistic workmanship, making them among the most desirable and sought after Persian rugs. This royal Tehran is woven and signed by a master weaver, knot by knot, has over 100 knots per square inch and it has a glowing and lively appearance due to its high quality of hand spun baby lambs wool pile. Creases are due to fold and not a defect. The leather band sewn on the edge at the back of this rug is to keep the edges from curling under due to the extreme tightness of the weave.
