<B>Rare Lincoln and Grant Portraits Taken April, 1865 and Limited to 175 Impressions.</B></I> American Bank Note Company, no date present, each portrait measures 7.25" x 9.5" and is framed and matted under glass to an overall size of 24.5" x 24.5", fine condition. The limitation sheet, framed with the portraits, indicates that the Lincoln portrait was taken a few days before his death; and the Grant portrait immediately after the surrender at Appomattox. The strain of the war can readily be seen in both men's faces. Only 175 impressions are in existence, the plates having been destroyed by the American Bank Note Company.
