Manufacturer: Belgium Model: Kerr
This Belgian made five shot revolver is a copy of an early Kerr revolver made at the Bermondsey factory. Among the early features are the grooved top of the frame, the cylinder pin retained by a wing nut and the riveted lever catch. The left upper side of the frame just ahead of the cylinder is marked "KERR'S/ PATENT/ No 2" followed by a "crown/z" proof mark. The cylinder is marked with the same proof mark below a Leige proofmark. There are no other visible markings on the revolver. It has a brass post front sight and a notch rear sight. The top strap has a large groove. The frame, barrel lugs, hammer and lock plate have simple two line border engraving. The grips are checkered with a steel buttcap. The wing nut holding the cylinder pin has been replaced by a screw and the hole for the wing nut filled with lead.

Gauge: 36
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 2
Condition:
Very good plus. All metal surfaces have a dark mottled patina with some scattered light pitting and there are several minor dings on the cylinder. The grips are very good with minor dents, one very small gouge, and crisp checkering. The action needs adjustment, the hammer doesn't hold full cock. Markings are clear. From the Val Forgett Collection of Kerr revolvers.
