Rare trap model manufactured between 1917 and 1951, with a total production of only 2650. This example has and engraved receiver that exhibits a very well executed scroll pattern with an Irish setter on point, on the left side, and a pair of grouse, on the right side. It has standard factory markings, raised factory ventilated rib, with bead front and mid-bead sights, 2 3/4" chamber, with full choke and an inscription on the chamber. Matching numbers, on the barrel, receiver, and forend. Checkered forearm and English straight grip stock, with extended buttstock and Pachmayr White Line vented recoil pad. LOP 14 7/8". Right side of barrel, nicely etched, "DR. J. B. HOLMES / MACOMB IL."

Condition: Excellent with 98% original blue finish on barrel and light edge wear overall. Receiver retains 40% of the case colors, with the balance a silver-gray and some minor spotting. The extended and revarnished stock is very good, with light handling marks, an expert repair thru the wrist, recut checkering and a few hairline cracks in forearm.
