<B>Rare Jack Johnson Signature</B></I> Signature: <I>"Jack Johnson"</B></I> on verso of a color picture postcard, 5.5" x 3.5", depicting "The Famous Streamliner '400' - Chicago and North Western Line". Above the message is a caption beginning: "Powerful Diesels provide a smooth flow of power...." A collector has penned: "Aboard 'Los Angeles/Limited' Eastbound/Jan. 26, 1942." above Johnson's signature and: "Ex Worlds Heavy/wieght (sic) Champion" below it. Penned on the address portion on the right, probably by the collector: "Sgt Fryer/DEML/Ft Totten,/New York". Boxer Jack Johnson had won the World Heavyweight Championship in a 14 round decision over Tommy Burns on December 26, 1908. On April 5, 1915, he lost his title to Jess Willard by a knockout in the 26th round. In very fine condition. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection.
