Moe Howard handwritten outline for ''Punch Drunks'', the second of the Stooges films. In 2002, the film was selected by the Library of Congress as a film with cultural significance, the only of the Stooges films to earn this honor. Written on St. George Court stationery, a hotel in Hollywood, 4pp. letter is written on the back of the stationery in pencil and reads in part, ''…Fade in to boxing arena fighters coming down isles from dressing room. Curly, Bangs & Frizzy carrying fiddle case. They help Curly into ring. Bout starts after Round One. Curly who has been socked all over the ring, waits for his chair to be into ring. Bangs & Frizzy can't get it in when they finally do. It's just time for the bell of 2nd round which rings…Curly is taking another beating and Frizzy decides to play the warning tune, takes fiddle out of case plays tune and Curly beats his opponent senseless. He is cheered as we fade out''. In the final version of the film, Curly becomes ''K.O. Stradivarius'', and with Larry in playing ''Pop Goes the Weasel'' as the magic ingredient, Curly becomes the number one contender for the heavyweight championship. Originally titled, ''Symphony of Punches '', it later became ''Punch Drunks''. Measures 6'' x 9.5''. Each sheet has toning and dampstaining, else very good.
