The medals are attached to a ribbon bar and come in a Kenning & Son case. The medals are the following: 1) Rare Distinguished Conduct Medal named to Lewis. It has been estimated that only 800 of these medals were awarded during the Crimean War. 2) Crimea Medal named to Lewis with Inkermann, Balaklava and Alma clasps. 3) British issued Turkish Crimea Medal (La Crimea marked) un-named as issued. Comes with research confirming that Pte. Timothy Lewis served with the 2nd Battalion Rifle Brigade during the Crimean War and was awarded the rare Distinguished Conduct Medal. The rifle brigade sent to battalions during the Crimean War. These battalions would see action at the Alma where one of the battalions led the advance across the Alma River, Inkermann and at the Siege of Sevastopol. For their actions the regiment received eight Victorian Crosses, more than any other regiment who fought in the Crimean War.
