Extremely Rare “GEORGE WASHINGTON Holding The DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE” Porcelain Statue
c. 1876 Victorian Era, George Washington Holding The Declaration of Independence Figural Statue, English Fine Porcelain, Decorated in Polychrome Enamel, Arman AI.19, Choice Extremely Fine to Near Mint.
Listed and illustrated major Design Type by David Arman in his 1998 published reference book titled, “Anglo-American Ceramics - Part I” shown as item AI.19 on page 233. This excellent example being the same, having a different Polychrome Enamel color scheme applied to this statue. Arman states:

“A very rare Victorian figure of George Washington in overall (colors) and highlights. Probably circa 1876, this figure of Washington, that actually resembles Washington, is rarely found. -- Value $1,750-$2,500.”

This example offered measures about 14.5” tall with the base 4” in diameter, no manufacturer, maker or place named as is expected and normal for this design. It is in exceptional, very high quality with sharp crisp details. It is Hand-painted and has no chips or cracks, just a bit of trivial paint wear, overall a magnificent example for display. This fine example is the best we have ever offered and would be a great addition to any George Washington Collection.
