Rare French restoration period General Officer’s pattern sabre circa about 1814 in very good to near fine original condition with blued gilt blade and original scabbard. The grip is finely checkered ebony and pommel shows a lion. The hilt is decorated in florals and shows a knight’s sword in wreath at center. The hanger’s on scabbard show Three (3) Fluer D’ Li”s with stands of arms signifying the restoration for the monarchybefore Napolean was defeated at Waterloo and made in period that was less than two years. The blade shows 80%-90% plus original blue and makers name is under guard but we cannot read it. The scabbard shows patina with mostgilt on mounts. A very, very rare sword. Est.; $5,000-$10,000
