RARE, FRENCH TURK'S HEAD TERRACOTTA MOLD, 1860s
This piece is rare because it has two handles on the large Turk's Head glazed terracotta baking mold. The circa is 1860s. It is 10 inches across. It is 5 inches high. It weights 3.75 pounds. It is still useable. To get an easy release of the beautifully formed bread it must be greased with lard. It requires two cake mixes to get the full height. It is very impressive. Bakers in Germany and France still use these molds. I have used this one. CONDITION: You can see by the black on the bottom that it was used in a fireplace. There is baked on grease from years of use. There are no chips or cracks. CUSTOMER SERVICE: We take Visa and MasterCard. We give a moneyback guarantee within 10 days of receipt, it item is found to be other than described and returned in the condition sent. We mail the day of credit cards and the day after a check clears. Buyer pays exact shipping and insurance. There is no handling, packing charges. Bid with confidence.
