According to the included factory letter, this revolver was engraved and inscribed by the factory before being shipped to the Phil B. Bekeart Company of San Fransisco as a single item on October 28, 1925. Blade front and notch rear sights, with the two line address and patent markings on top of the barrel, "NEW SERVICE 45 COLT" stamped on the left side, and "Laddie Hellman" engraved on the left side. Laddie Hellman has not yet been identified. The barrel, frame and cylinder are decorated in A Grade engraving, with scroll designs, starburst patterns on the yoke and latch, arrows on the butt and a flower on top of the back strap. Fitted with a pair of smooth ivory grips. Fewer than 100 Colt New Service Revolvers had factory inscriptions and only about 75 were factory engraved.
