Rare Experimental World War II Nazi G33/40 Sniper Rifle with ZF41 Scope and Scope Can

This is an excellent example of an experimental WWII German G33/40 Mountain carbine that was produced as a test carbine mounting a ZF41 sniper or shooting aid, sniper scope. There have been several pictures that depicts this type of mounting system on a G33/40 however no verifiable examples have ever surfaced. This specific carbine appears to be an actual production carbine based on the serial number and later receiver markings. This is a standard G33/40 mountain carbine with the small ring receiver and lightening cutouts on the receiver and bolt, that was subsequently modified by installing a one piece G33/40 machined rear sight base with an integral side mounted dovetail slot for the ZF41 scope mount. The left side and rear portion of the laminated handguard has been milled out to allow for mounting and dismount of the scope, while the underside of the handguard has a metal reinforcing ring in place to strengthen it. The scope is marked with the small "dow" code with a small blue "+" symbol next to a lined out "ZF-40" marking next to "41/1". The mount is a correct wartime version that is marked with a single "duv" wartime maker's code over an "eagle/214" proof. The top of the receiver is marked "dot/1942" for the wartime code for the Bruno factory along with the year of manufacture. The serial number is stamped on the left side of the receiver ring with a single eagle firing proof on the right side. The top of the handguard is stamped "dot" also the wartime code for the Bruno factory. The stock is a standard G33/40 version that has a double "eagle/WaA63" Waffenamt on the right side, with the serial number, and "dot" and Waffenamt proofs on the underside. It has the standard cupped metal buttplate with the protector plate on the left side. It has a standard G33/40 bolt with the matching serial number on the backside with the correct unnumbered cocking piece and bolt shroud. It is complete with the original front and rear sunshades for the scope and an original ZF41 scope can.
