Rare Early Production 1934 "K" Date S/42 Mauser Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol Serial Number 20

This is a very nice example of an original unaltered very early First-Sub-Variation, Mauser, "K" date code military Luger pistol serial number 20. These early Wehrmacht P.08 pistols have an extremely low survival rate as almost all saw extensive service use with surviving examples among the most desirable Nazi Luger pistols. The "K" was developed as a wartime code by the Germans to conceal their early rearming efforts in violation of the Treaty of Versailles, with only 10,930 manufactured in four different subvariations. This example which has an extremely low serial number; "20" and is classified as a Sub-Variation 1 Luger, found in serial number range 1-1,700. These rare First Sub-Variations are identified by the Script "S" marking on the various parts to include the front toggle, trigger, takedown lever, side plate, safety, toggle assembly, extractor, magazine release button breechblock and barrel extension, and the wartime "K" date code marking on the chamber. The German Army boxed "O/37" acceptance proofs along with an early Mauser Eagle firing proofs are located on the right side of the barrel extension. The pistol has a Type 1 Army magazine with a nickel plated body and aluminum base stamped with serial number, "S/20/+" over a boxed "B37" acceptance stamp.
