There early "G" date Navy Lugers were procured in two different serial number/letter block with this specific example being in the second subvariation. Based on the data in Jan Still's book "Third Reich Luger" there were approximately 20,000 procured in this block. These "G" Navy Lugers are extremely rare and very seldom seen as they saw heavy use for almost 8 long years of war with many being lost at sea. The chamber has the distinctive "G" markings indicating that it was produced in 1935 with the front grip strap correctly marked "O.2675". The front toggle has the correct "S/42" Mauser code. The right side of the barrel extension has the double "Eagle/63" proofs next to the early drooped wing Mauser firing proof. It is correctly numbered in the military manner with the full serial number (5734e) stamped on the front of the frame with (5734) stamped on the barrel and barrel extension. It is fitted with a unmarked nickel plated magazine with an aluminum base. The base is marked "6049/g/Eagle/63". This scarce Luger is complete with an original early issue Navy marked holster. The back side is marked with an "Eagle/A94"Waffenamt over a single "Eagle/M" Navy proofmark.
