Rare Early Pre-War A.F. Stoeger Walther PP Contract Pistol with Original DRGM Holster
This is an exceptional example of a all original and exceptional, early pre-war Walter PP pocket pistol that has the rare "A.F. Stoeger" slide markings. This Walther pistol has the original pre-war high polish blue finish and is fitted with a set of black checkered plastic grips. A.F. Stoeger was one of the more prominent small arms importers in the pre- and post-WWI era and imported many of the well know German handguns right up to the beginning of WWII. These A.F. Stoeger marked Walther pistols is considered extremely rare as very few were actually ever imported and marked. There is only one other example listed/noted on page 62-63 in the book "Walther Models PP and PPK 1929-1945" by Rankin. That example is only approximately 115 serial numbers away from this specific pistol. The top left side of the slide is correctly engraved; "A.F. STOEGER INC. NEW YORK" and the lower side of the slide has the standard two line Walther factory markings. The front trigger guard bow correctly marked "GERMANY" indicating that it was intended for export out side of Germany. On the right side of the pistol there is a single "Crown/N Commercial Test" proof," on the chamber area of the exposed barrel, directly below the ejection port on the slide and also on the very front end of the barrel. As noted, this pistol is complete with one original blued Walther marked magazine and a smooth black leather holster that is marked with the "D.R.G.M./crossed rifle/a.k.a.h." markings of Albrecht Kind, with a very faint "MOD PP" ink stamped on the inside of the flap.
