Originally manufactured in 1973. This pistol has a frame configuration inspired by the Government Model. The frame has been milled ahead of the trigger guard and has an experimental trigger, trigger guard and frame. It is fitted with a sport Model barrel and conventional slide with an adjustable Elliason target sight. The back strap has been arched and a piece has been added to the front strap to give it a look of the Government Model pistol. The frame was left in the white and the remaining parts are blue. Fitted with checkered walnut grips with right hand thumb rest. From the Colt Archive Collection and previously sold by a west coast auction company.
BBL: 4 1/2 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 22 LR
Finish: blue/bright
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 042088S
Condition: Very fine. The blue components retain 95% original blue finish with some muzzle and edge wear, a few minor scratches on the barrel and some minor oxidation on the rear sight. The bright surfaces are a mix of smooth brown patina and bright. The grips are good. They have been modified by sanding the lower rear portions down and there is finish and checkering loss in those areas. Otherwise overall there are a few minor dings and the remaining checkering is crisp. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
