Ultra-rare Sterling Silver & Vitreous Enamel Bracelet by Danish Artist, Author & Explorer Harald Moltke, circa late 1940's early 1950's. Signed Harold Moltke, Sterling Denmark, A3 & with KG - internet research shows this to stand for Kebenhavns Guldsmedie, Copenhagen 1944 - 1955. This bracelet depicts The Snow Queen with flowing golden white hair on a cobalt background. Influenced by an original fairy tale written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. Four convex plaques joined by molded bar links. Measures 1 ¬'' x 6 5/8'' laid flat. Interior diameter when clasp is engaged 2 ¬'' x 2''; interior diameter 2 11/16''. Weighs 61.52 grams. Unusual clasp - tongue threads through & folds flat. Harald Moltke born 1871, best known for his paintings, also an author & explorer he was a draughtsman on four Arctic expeditions from which his work was inspired.
