Rare Dance Brothers, .44 caliber percussion Dragoon size revolver pictured on page 65 of “Confederate Revolvers” by William A. Gary and remaining in very good original condition, serial number 164. The metal surfaces show a smooth brown patina finish with light scattered pitting and erosion. The grip straps show a pleasing and matching patina. The grips are good with some small losses and edge wear and are slightly undersized. The serial numbers appears on thebottom of the barrel lug, bottom of the frame, the left side of the loading lever, the cylinder, left side of hammer and bottom of the wedge and are all matching. There are large imperfections in the casting of the brass particularly in thetrigger guard which is a known feature on most Confederate revolvers. The bottom of the barrel lug shows a forged in piece which was done during the original manufacturer of this pistol. The action is good and the pistol is good overall with some wear at the left front of the muzzle from being carried in a holster on the right side. Texas made percussion revolvers are extremely rare and this is one of the better known examples. Refer Flayderman 10 – 006. . The collection of
