Rare Daisho Japanese with herring bone abalone sayas. The tsubas are Chinese Nanban style with gold wash. All fittings are silver. Menukie are silver bamboo leaves that are family mons. They match the silver chopsticks in the waki. The kogai in the waki is all silver and gold. It is heavily signed on the back with a kekun. The dai has a 15th century Bizen blade, signed ? sukesada. It is 26” long. The show (waki is 18” long and signed Tada Yoshie of Hizen Province). Both blades are in good old polish and need slight touching up. This is a rare, one of a kind Daisho. The work on the sayas is a lost art. Est.: $8,000-$16,000.
