Rare Confederate percussion first model carbine by S.G. Robinson, Richmond, VA, .52 cal., 21-1/2” barrel, wood stocks, brass butt plate and barrel band, #696. This gun is in overall very good condition with an even medium brown patina to metal surfaces, some scattered areas of light pitting, clearly marked barrel address and lock plate address with serial number on upper tang and back of lock plate; crisp action, fair ++ bore, saddle ring, bar and rear sling swivel present, very good wood overall with some areas of wear but far better than usually seen on these seldom found Southern weapons. Less than 2,000 of these carbines were manufactured and most were “ridden hard and put up wet” but not this one. From the Richard Wolfe Estate. Est.: $10,000-$20,000.
