Rare Colt SAA revolver, .44 S&W cal., 5-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, checkered black hard rubber grips, #150884, in overall very good + condition showing considerable areas of original blue on the barrel, original blue inprotected areas of the ejector housing, grey patina to the cylinder and straps with some traces of original blue in protected areas of straps; overall grey patina to frame with some hints of original case color; several old minor dings toright side of frame, loading gate and trigger guard; also to left side of barrel below caliber marking; London barrel address, no English proofs, crisp action, sharp markings, fine bore, very good + grips; accompanied by two factory lettersdated may 30, 1986 and September 6, 2013 confirming caliber, barrel length and finish with type of stocks “Not Listed”, shipped to A.C. Gould, 293 Broadway, New York, N.Y. on March 24 ( & May 26), 1893, one gun in shipment (“Remarks” on 1986 letter state: “.44 S&W was the early marking for this firearm which was later followed by the .44 S&W Specials in the Company catalogues. There were 24 - .44 S&W produced and 506 .44 Specials manufactured”; “Remarks” on the 2013 letter
