Colt Model of 1873 Rimfire. This is one extremely rare Colt Model patterned after the 1849 Colt Pocket Model. SN: 3559, Circa: 1873. Calibre is .38 Rimfire. The Colt is NOT a conversion, rather a very rare model of 1873 with the 31/2'' barrel without ejector made especially for this model and was not altered from percussion. Reference data: ''Flayderman Guide To American Antique Firearms and Their Value''. Condition of this Colt is 90% with good case colors, all the original varnish on grips, all matching numbers. Extremely clear markings, excellent cylinder scene with fireblue still in evidence on some of the screw heads. Records show only 6000 of this model were made between 1873 & 1880. Obviously the action and lockup are as new. No silver remains on the back strap as the plating was very thin at this time with Colt. This is an excellent opportunity to invest in one of Colt's truly rare antique firearms.
