Included in this lot is a Colt Model 1900 semi-automatic .38 ACP pistol manufactured in 1902. This very desirable early production pistol has grip serrations on the rear of the slide, spur hammer and har rubber Colt grips. The pistol originally had the high polish Colt commercial blue finish with niter blue trigger and screws. The rear sight and hammer have a color casehardened finish. The seven-shot magazine has a nickel-plated finish. The right side of the slide is roll-stamped: "AUTOMATIC COLT CALIBER 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS" in two lines. The left side of the slide is roll-stamped: “Patented PAT'D APRIL 20, 1897" in a two line block followed by "COLT'S PATENT FIRE ARMS MFG. CO./HARTFORD. CONN. U.S.A." in two lines. The encircled Rampant Colt trademark is stamped on the left side of the slide behind the serrations. The black hard rubber grips are checkered with "COLT" in a ribbon at the top of the grip and the circled Rampant Colt motif in the center. The bottom of the magazine floor plate is marked: "PAT'D SEPT.9.1884". The Model 1900 Semi-Automatic pistol is a extremely rare firearm. It is the first semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Colt and the first of John M. Browning's successful semi-automatic pistol designs. Serial Number: 2593. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
