Also known as the "Grapeshot", this is 1 of approximately 1,000 Belgian Brevete revolvers produced. The top barrel flat is marked "COLONEL A. LEMAT BREVETE" . The rear face of the cylinder is marked with the oval "E / LG / *", the number "3" and a "crown / V" proofmarks, one flute is stamped with a "1" and the initials "FR" are marked on the front face. There is a "crown / EL" and "crown / V" proof on the left rear barrel flat and the "crown / V" appears on the lower barrel and frame ahead of the cylinder. The serial number is marked on the right side of the frame. The upper barrel is 11mm and the lower barrel gauges between a 20 and 16 gauge. The barrel is fitted with a high pinched front sight and a notch in the hammer serves as the rear sight. There is a center mounted articulated insert in the hammer for firing the percussion barrel. Ejector rod mounted on the right side of the upper barrel, checkered hammer, swinging loading gate and fitted with two piece smooth walnut grips with a lanyard ring mounted on the butt cap.

Condition: Good. The revolver has been cleaned and the metal surfaces remain bright with some scattered small areas of discoloration and minor pitting. The grips are good with a few overall minor dings and dents. The markings and proofs are crisp and clear. The mechanics are excellent.
